Beverly Joseph, Chairwoman of the Government Employee Services Commission (GESC) is a leader in seeking affordable and quality health insurance and quality access to care for all members and their families.
Ms. Joseph has been in the healthcare sector for the past fourteen years, presently working at the Department of Human Services for the last four years as the Expansion Services Coordinator and Provider Relations/Claims Manger. She had the pleasure of working for the Lt. Governor’s office for nine years with the Medicare-VISHIP Program. For the past six years, Ms. Joseph has worked on the Health Insurance Board as a member first, then voted in as Chairwoman, accomplishing the lower premiums the government and its employees have to date. Ms. Joseph was a former Frederiksted Health Center Board Member and is currently the Chairperson for Ten Thousand Helper’s, a non-profit group that services the only transition home for males, homeless and mental health. Being part of all these wonderful organizations has guided her conviction that she must keep a finger on the pulse of health systems and health policies. Both management and potential program participants would streamline her understanding for achieving lasting social change.
Ms. Joseph is proud to have been a part of the team that brought Omada Health, Motivate Me, the Bowling League, Battle of the Agencies, Table to Garden and all the other challenges, to include Walking, Hydration, and Sleeping. Her goal is to encourage members of the plan to utilize the benefits, so they live healthier lives. Raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Beverly is very driven in developing the next generation of healthy associates and strengthening the work force. She hopes that implementing exciting wellness incentives will continue to encourage members to achieve their weight loss goals and to make healthier lifestyle changes.
